Twenty five years ago, two friends Kevin & Mark, were looking for quality Chinese food for delivery in the uptown area. They tried, everything from soggy oily rice to over cooked dark meat chicken dishes. Nothing was worth ordering again. Rather than sit around and complain they decided to create their own restaurant, hence, Cafe Hunan.
Cafe Hunan has hired Chef Li from China, who has compiled a menu of true Hunan specialties. All chicken is white meat(1) (we use choice pork loin for our pork dishes. and our beef is fresh black angus (never frozen). the finest quality available. All seafood dishes are prepared with the freshest catches available. All our soups and won tons are made fresh daily. Our fried rice is so light you will not believe it is fried.
Cafe Hunan dishes are prepared with a minimum of oil and of course we add no MSG to our dishes. Every specialty was tested again and again by Mark and Kevin until they thought they were perfect.
